from our control room to the studios, we have artfully and skillfully compiled an excellent array of instruments and recording equipment to compliment any caliber project.
Control room
The PoeTown control room is a comfortable environment to track, mix, master or just hang out and listen. It’s acoustically designed and treated, and tuned by Sonarworks to deliver the most accurate mixes and masters. It also showcases several members of our extensive guitar collection.
MENU
Studio a
Our primary studio was built with musicians in mind. The live room combines non parallel walls
and a mix of absorptive and reflective materials to create a space that’s yields a warm, natural
ambiance to drums and other acoustic instruments. Adjoining the live room are two isolation spaces, each large enough to accommodate a vocalist and/or amplifier. Both iso rooms have good sight lines to the live room and control room. Studio A is a perfect space for tracking a full band. Our Hear Technologies Hearback headphone system allows each member of the band to custom tailor their own independent headphone mix.
the warehouse
The Warehouse is an enormous open space with 3 story ceilings and a beautiful natural decay.
This room is ideal for bands that want to capture that live vibe by performing all together in the
same room. It features a full 4 way PA system with monitors, and is big enough to
accommodate a symphony orchestra. A closed circuit camera system allows visual contact
between the warehouse and the control room. If you’re looking for that huge, natural, Bonhamesque drum sound, this is the room for you. The Warehouse can also be booked as a
showcase and performance space.
mic collection
-Townsend Labs Sphere Microphone Modeling System:
Normally, a microphone would not warrant a detailed explanation, but the Sphere is something entirely unique. Sphere utilizes the latest in analog modeling technology to reproduce an entire mic locker’s worth of mics with incredible accuracy. Imagine being able to access and audition the most desirable vintage mics at the touch of a button. We have every mic in both the Ocean Way Studios and Bill Putnam collection; from ribbons to dynamics to legendary large diaphragm condensers like the Telefunken ElaM251, Neumann U47, and the AKG C12. This system will forever change the way you think about microphones. For more information on how this is possible, check it out here: https://townsendlabs.com/products/sphere-l22/

AUDIO INTERFACES
Just as the Townsend Sphere has revolutionized microphone modeling, our Universal Audio Apollo x8p’s have done the same for mic preamp technology. Their Unison modeling preamps faithfully reproduce the tone and timbre of the finest pres from Neve, API, Telefunken, SSL and many more. We have 16 channels of these that can be mixed and matched to perfectly suit any sound source. Combined with another 16 channels of Focusrite Scarlett pres, we can track up to 32 inputs simultaneously. Of course we also have a huge selection of plug in from UAD and others:
